I’m processing the Wolves/Arsenal result without overreacting, but it is frustrating because these are points we did not have to drop. This squad has too much quality and depth for the same core players to look this exhausted while others are barely trusted, and the game management decisions are not helping. At some point it stops being about talent and starts being about how the talent is being used.

Arteta revitalized Arsenal when he arrived in 2019 and gave the club its identity back, so this is not a reactionary “Arteta out” take. It is a genuine question about whether the project is stalling and what comes next if it is.

Travel soccer parents, I’m curious if this sounds familiar?

I have two kids who play on four different teams, and our club doesn’t use one central app where all the schedules live. Everything comes through WhatsApp chats, which means I manually enter the games, trainings, and uniform notes into my calendar as they come in.

Today was meant to be a full soccer day, with three matches on the schedule, and I was actually looking forward to it. Then my older son checked which uniform he was supposed to wear, and that’s when I realized I had entered all of his matches for today under tomorrow instead.

I felt that brief moment of frustration and then - wait - I get to watch Arsenal at 10am!

That alone changed the whole mood. The kids get to play the game they love, and honestly, life really is good.

She was 7½ months pregnant at her last Wear–Tyne Derby. Promised her mum she’d stay calm.
Ended up on the front of the Sunderland Echo, going mental behind the goal for the winner.

Fast forward to now - Louise is back, this time with her kids, experiencing their first derby together as Sunderland return to the Premier League.

She’s never seen Sunderland lose a league derby. Only wins and draws.
And no - the 2024 FA Cup doesn’t count.

This is what football does.
